Destination Burgundy France

Wine is unmistakably the most well-known product in Burgundy

Burgundy is a historic region of central-eastern France and a former administrative region. It takes its name from the Burgundians, an East Germanic people who moved westwards beyond the Rhine during the late Roman period.

The region is crossed by a network of canals and dotted with majestic castles, some of which have been transformed into luxury hotels. Dijon, the capital city famous for its mustard, is home to the imposing Palace of the Dukes, where the distinguished Museum of Fine Arts was established in 1787.

Burgundy also offers natural beauty, with lakes and forests, and plenty of opportunities for fishing, walking or riding. The Nièvre holds a vast area of wild countryside ideal both for sport and cultural activities. The visitor will find lands with different tastes to discover, and gentle landscapes with the river Loire and hillsides covered with vineyards.
